COVID-19: MOH confirms cluster linked to Pasar Besar Jalan Meru

After several days of news floating around that several hawkers at Pasar Besar Jalan Meru has tested positive, MOH has just confirmed a cluster linked to the said location.

Eight new Covid-19 clusters have been detected nationwide on the 22nd of December by the Ministry of Health, bringing Malaysia’s total to 459 clusters since the beginning of the pandemic. Among the eight clusters is the Pasar Baru Cluster which is linked to Jalan Pasar Baru in Klang.

The Pasar Baru cluster involved the Klang and Kuala Langat districts in Selangor where the index case was diagnosed on the 15th of December after experiencing symptoms.

As of today, 2,001 individuals related to this cluster have been screened of which 309 returned positive for COVID-19.

Majlis Perbandaran Klang (MPK) has also shut down the affected locations - namely Kompleks Pasar Besar Jalan Meru and PKNS shop lots located at Jalan Pasar Baru from 22nd December (Tuesday) until 28th December (Monday) for public disinfection and sanitization process.
