By spreading out the traffic, QingMing Festival’s peak on the 2nd of April at Meru, Klang observed smoother traffic flow, with no signs of traffic congestion that happened last year.

The three main Chinese cemeteries, namely Fairy Park Klang, Hokkien Cemetery Klang and Kwong-Tong Cemetery Klang, are all gathered at the Meru area. Many visitors had complained about the traffic flow last year.

A few days before, the management of all three Chinese cemeteries had held a press conference on their traffic diversion plan while pointing out several alternative roads to the community, and as a result, we observe smooth traffic flow to all three locations today (2 April 2022).

Alternative roads that were proposed included the Setia Alam highway and Jalan Cerakah, that both led to Fairy Park. Using these roads would help spread out traffic from Meru main road.

The cemetery managements had also asked for help from volunteers to assist in traffic control.

This year’s crowd was seen to be larger than the previous year due to the pandemic restrictions. But compared to before the pandemic, it was still considerably less.
