DAP general election controversy heated up? It was rumored that he was offered the Klang New Town state seat, but Charles denied giving up the Klang seat!

In a Facebook post today, Klang MP Charles denies news reports that he will no longer defend the Klang parliamentary seat in the next general election and is preparing to make way for a state MP from the party to fight in Klang.

In response to reports that Sri Kembangan state MP Ouyang Hanhua will be the replacement candidate for the Klang parliamentary seat, Charles responded in the article by emphasizing that he has no intention to give up the Klang parliamentary seat yet.

"Seriously, I don't plan to vacate my seat at this time. I promise to respond after reading the entire article after the flood control work is completed."

He pointed out that floods are the most pressing issue of the moment, because disasters have a huge impact on people's lives and livelihoods.

A source within the DAP revealed that DAP Selangor acting chairman Ou Yeong Han Hua will replace Charles, who has served as a three-term MP, in Klang.

The report also claimed that Ouyang Hanhua won the support of 28 local DAP branches, and he was also certain that Ouyang Hanhua would contest 90% of the Klang parliamentary seat in the next general election.

Charles won the Klang parliamentary constituency on behalf of the DAP in the "political tsunami" of 2008, and has been re-elected since his first term as an MP.

According to sources, DAP members who are interested in running for the Klang parliamentary seat include party central committee member Liu Tianqiu and Selangor vice-chairman Ganabadi Lao.
