Back during our schooling days, there used to be a spot where my friends and I would often drop by to get our "Yo Yo Ice" after cruising around the parks on our bicycles, and that place was Ni Jia Fried Chicken. 

Often mistaken as 'Ninja Fried Chicken', Ni Jia Fried Chicken literally translates to 'Fried chicken from your house'. The small restaurant serves our favorite classic school day snacks, and their signature would be none other than what their name suggests - their fried chicken. Apart from that, they also serve 'nasi lemak' as well, ordered alongside a cup of 'Yo Yo Ice' or 'Yao Yao Bing", it makes for a great afternoon meal. 

There may not be a wide variety of choices on their menu, but the simple concept is what makes Ni Jia Fried Chicken special. At affordable prices, their fried chicken is super crispy and delicious, leaving you wanting a second serving. If you're still hungry, grab a pack of 'nasi lemak' along the way. The 'Yo Yo Ice' is shaved ice with different flavors to choose from, such as sour plum and red bean. It will be your favorite to order when the weather is super hot and you're craving for something cold to douse the flames. 

As small as the shop is, it still has a fairly large amount of seats inside. But the weather can be hot, and even with the fans inside, you'll definitely sweat if you're eating in. So if you're someone afraid of the heat, you can always opt for takeaway!
